Healthy Communities X Design

The Healthy Communities x Design project seeks to demonstrate that how people's influence on and engagement with their physical environment impacts their health.

Using an innovative community led design approach, two tower communities, one in Weston and one in Scarborough are embarking on a 5 year journey in which local residents influence a re-design of local spaces in ways that promotes active living, improved mental health, physical activity, and healthy eating.

Healthy Communities x Design is a cross sector partnership of residents, property owners, architects, planners, community, and health professionals.  Together, they are exploring the intersections of design, resident leadership, health promotion, and environment as drivers for improved health outcomes.
